Definition of Trige

(medicine) A process of sorting patients into groups by order of a combination of priority and resource efficiency; used especially where casualties are many and resources are few
The highest priority group are those who would die without rapid treatment; then those who would lose a limb without rapid treatment; then other casualties; finally those who will die whatever the treatment. That makes four groups, originally triage was sorting into three groups, hence the name.
